Backend Engineer

Job Summary

To support the Core Sending Squad, the full-time Backend Engineer will help define architecture, build scalable infrastructure for sending millions of emails daily, and improve high availability across distributed applications in a fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define architecture to support millions of daily API requests
• Build and scale infrastructure for sending dozens of millions of emails per day
• Enhance observability and refine disaster recovery plans for critical services

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of back-end engineering experience focused on cloud infrastructure
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken
• Experience with AWS and event-driven systems at scale (e.g., Kafka, SQS/SNS)
• Proficiency in Typescript and Golang
• Ability to work consistently in the Americas timezone
