Backend Engineer

Job Summary

To support the development of Presto's Voice AI platform, the full-time Backend Engineer will design and maintain backend systems for real-time voice ordering, focusing on data integration from various Point of Sale (POS) systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable APIs, services, and data pipelines for backend systems
• Optimize system performance, ensuring high availability and reliability while troubleshooting production issues
• Write clean, maintainable code and contribute to architectural decisions and infrastructure management

Required qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in backend or distributed systems engineering
• Proficiency in one or more backend programming languages such as Node.js, Python, Java, Go, or Ruby
• Strong experience in designing and building RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases and caching systems
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and CI/CD pipelines
