Backend Engineer

Job Summary

To support the Personalization team, the full-time Backend Engineer will develop and operate large-scale Java services and data pipelines while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Work with large-scale data pipelines using frameworks like Scio, BigQuery, and Apache Beam
• Develop, deploy, and maintain Java services impacting millions of users
• Support machine learning projects to enhance personalized user experiences

Required qualifications

• Experience building and operating large-scale backend systems and data pipelines
• Proficiency in Java with experience in developing and supporting user-facing services
• Hands-on experience with modern data processing frameworks and cloud technologies
• Comfort with data-intensive systems and infrastructure supporting machine learning
• Strong commitment to software engineering best practices and code quality
