Backend Engineer

Job Summary

To support a growing telehealth platform, the full-time remote Backend Engineer will design, develop, and maintain scalable server-side applications using PHP and Laravel, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize high-throughput RESTful APIs and PostgreSQL queries to support clinical workflows
• Build and maintain integrations with third-party APIs and internal services, deploying applications in Docker on AWS
• Write automated tests for back-end functionality and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing and deployment

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience with PHP and the Laravel framework
• Experience with AWS services and Docker
• Solid knowledge of RESTful APIs and automated API testing
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Deep experience with SQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL, including schema design and performance optimization
