Backend Engineer

Job Summary

To support a project running from August to December 2026, the full-time freelance Backend Engineer will build and maintain backend services using TypeScript and Node.js, while integrating third-party APIs and leveraging AI tools in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend services with TypeScript and Node.js
• Integrate backend functionality with third-party APIs and external data services
• Write clean, well-tested code and proactively identify and resolve issues

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of backend experience
• 2+ years of experience with Node.js
• Hands-on experience building at least one large-scale system from scratch
• Experience using AI tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex
• Proactive mindset with excellent communication skills in a remote setting
