Backend Engineer

Job Summary

As a remote full-time Backend Engineer on the Messaging Platform team, the successful candidate will build and evolve scalable backend services, APIs, and platform capabilities to enhance messaging reliability and engagement across multiple channels.

Key responsibilities

• Build and evolve scalable backend services for push, email, SMS, and in-app messaging
• Design systems for audience targeting, campaign scheduling, and messaging preferences
• Improve reliability and performance for high-volume messaging systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience with backend systems in production environments
• Strong experience in designing and operating scalable backend services
• Ability to make thoughtful tradeoffs between speed, quality, and reliability
• Experience in fast-paced, cross-functional product or platform environments
