Backend Engineer
Job Summary
To support advanced network modeling and emulation environments, the fully remote Backend Engineer will develop and enhance backend applications, build scalable REST APIs, and optimize resource utilization in a long-term contract role.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and enhance backend applications for managing virtual network environments and infrastructure
- Build and maintain scalable REST APIs for customer interaction with simulated network topologies
- Design automation capabilities to support infrastructure-as-code testing and network validation workflows
Required qualifications
- 5-8 years of backend software engineering experience focused on distributed systems or infrastructure platforms
- Strong networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, Layer 2/Layer 3 switching, and routing protocols
- Proficiency in Python or Go, with experience in Linux systems programming
- Hands-on experience with virtualization and containerization technologies such as QEMU, Libvirt, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful APIs
