Backend Engineer
Job Summary
To support a leading networking and network simulation technology organization, the Backend Engineer will work remotely on a long-term contract, focusing on developing and enhancing a network modeling and simulation platform by building backend services, scalable APIs, and integrating virtualization technologies.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend services for orchestrating virtualized network nodes and managing container lifecycles
- Design and build high-performance RESTful APIs for programmatic network topology management
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new functionality and troubleshoot complex backend issues
Required qualifications
- 4+ years of backend software engineering experience with strong Python and/or Go development skills
- Hands-on experience with Linux systems programming and virtualization technologies such as QEMU, Libvirt, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Strong networking knowledge, including TCP/IP and routing protocols
- Experience designing and supporting RESTful APIs and backend services
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
