Backend Engineer

Job Summary

Owning well-scoped projects from design to production, the full-time remote Backend Engineer will build and operate systems for streaming feature-flag configurations, ensuring high reliability and low latency while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities:

• Build, ship, and operate features and services in Flag Delivery's streaming and polling infrastructure
• Investigate and resolve production issues while participating in the team's on-call rotation
• Write maintainable, well-tested code and engage in code and design reviews

Required qualifications:

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience building production services
• Proficiency in at least one backend language (Go, Rust, Python, Java, etc.) and familiarity with a cloud platform (AWS or equivalent)
• Solid fundamentals in data structures, concurrency, API design, and testing
• Experience debugging real production problems and a willingness to carry an on-call rotation
• Working familiarity with observability tooling and comfort reading dashboards, logs, and traces
