Backend Engineer
Job Summary
Working fully remote on a long-term contract basis, the Backend Engineer - Network Platform will develop and enhance a network modeling and simulation platform by building backend services that orchestrate virtualized network topologies and provide scalable APIs for users to manage complex network environments.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain backend services for orchestrating virtualized network nodes using container technologies
- Design and build scalable, high-performance RESTful APIs for programmatic management of network topologies
- Integrate with virtualization platforms to optimize resource utilization and simulation performance
Required qualifications:
- 4+ years of backend software engineering experience with strong Python and/or Go skills
- Hands-on experience with Linux systems programming and virtualization technologies such as QEMU and Kubernetes
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP and routing protocols
- Experience designing and supporting RESTful APIs and backend services
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
