Backend Engineer
Job Summary
To support an innovative organization in the networking and network simulation space, the fully remote Backend Engineer will develop and enhance backend applications for virtual network environments, build scalable REST APIs, and design automation capabilities for infrastructure testing and validation.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance backend applications managing virtual network environments and infrastructure
- Build and maintain scalable REST APIs for customer interaction with simulated network topologies
- Design automation capabilities supporting infrastructure-as-code testing and improve system performance
Required qualifications:
- 5-8 years of backend software engineering experience focused on distributed systems or infrastructure platforms
- Strong networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, Layer 2/Layer 3 switching, and routing protocols
- Proficiency in Python or Go, with experience in Linux systems programming
- Hands-on experience with virtualization and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful APIs
