Backend Engineer
Job Summary
To support a leading networking and infrastructure technology organization, the remote Backend Engineer will develop and maintain backend services for an advanced network simulation platform, focusing on building scalable RESTful APIs and optimizing network automation workflows.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend services that orchestrate virtualized network nodes and simulation environments using technologies like QEMU and libvirt
- Design and build scalable RESTful APIs to enable user interaction with complex network topologies
- Collaborate with software engineers and network architects to enhance platform performance and user experience
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field with 4+ years of backend software development experience
- Strong programming experience in Python and/or Go, along with experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs
- Hands-on experience with Linux systems programming and virtualization technologies (QEMU, libvirt, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, routing, and switching
- Experience with GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software development practices
