Backend Engineer
Job Summary
To support advanced network modeling and emulation environments, the fully remote Backend Engineer will develop and enhance backend applications, build scalable REST APIs, and design automation capabilities for infrastructure management on a long-term contract basis.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance backend applications that manage virtual network environments and infrastructure
- Build and maintain scalable REST APIs for customer interaction with simulated network topologies
- Design automation capabilities to support infrastructure-as-code testing and network validation workflows
Required qualifications:
- 5-8 years of backend software engineering experience focused on distributed systems or infrastructure platforms
- Strong networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, Layer 2/Layer 3 switching, and routing protocols
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Go, with experience in Linux systems programming
- Hands-on experience with virtualization and containerization technologies like QEMU, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful APIs
