Backend Engineer
Job Summary
Building highly scalable and reliable platform services, the full-time remote Backend Engineer will implement new APIs, manage product features from concept to completion, and ensure operational excellence in a distributed systems environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the team to implement APIs, database/caching abstractions, and services for user-facing products and infrastructure tools
- Exhibit full ownership of product features, including design and implementation, ensuring high availability and scalability
- Uphold high engineering standards around code quality, monitoring, operations, and automated testing of the platform
Required qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as a backend engineer with expertise in developing microservices in a distributed environment
- Proficiency in Kubernetes, gRPC, and Java
- Experience deploying applications on global cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Operational excellence in monitoring, deploying, and testing microservice architectures
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to balance feature development with technical debt
