Backend Integration Engineer

Job Summary

To support AI-driven initiatives, the full-time Backend Integration Engineer will design and maintain API infrastructures and system integrations for enterprise platforms, ensuring secure and reliable interactions with AI agents in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain RESTful and event-driven APIs to facilitate AI agent interactions with enterprise systems
• Implement security controls for integration endpoints and monitor integration health, ensuring compliance with data classification policies
• Collaborate with AI engineers to define specifications and maintain comprehensive API documentation for future integrations

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field preferred
• 2-4 years of backend software development or systems integration experience, particularly with enterprise platform APIs
• Proficiency in at least one backend language, preferably Python, with a strong understanding of REST API design principles
• Knowledge of Model Context Protocol (MCP) or a willingness to learn and implement MCP server patterns
• Microsoft Azure Developer Associate (AZ-204) certification preferred; ServiceNow or Okta certifications are a plus
