Backend Java Software Engineer
Job Summary
Working remotely, the full-time Backend Java Software Engineer will design, implement, and deliver scalable systems for government partners, focusing on modernizing legacy platforms to enhance user access to essential services.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and build high-quality software solutions
- Architect, implement, and deploy new systems and enhancements in an agile environment
- Create tools to automate development, testing, and production workflows, while participating in on-call support for production systems
Required qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in an agile, multidisciplinary team, focusing on medium to large-scale cloud platforms
- Proficiency in designing and implementing cloud-native microservices and RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot
- Experience with relational databases, preferably Postgres, and ORM mappers like Hibernate
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, particularly Jenkins CI/CD
- Experience utilizing AWS cloud services and data engineering
