Backend Platform Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely, the full-time Backend Platform Engineer will design and implement a robust integration layer for enterprise data systems, develop REST APIs, and create event-driven microservices to support survey automation and data processing.

Key Responsibilities

• Build an integration layer to ingest and route structured data from enterprise sources
• Design and implement REST APIs for frontend and third-party client consumption
• Develop an event-driven microservices architecture utilizing GCP Pub/Sub and Kafka

Required Qualifications

• Proficient in Java and the Spring ecosystem, with a deep understanding of concurrency and memory management
• Strong SQL skills with the ability to write complex queries and understand data modeling
• Experience in API design, including versioning and error handling best practices
• Familiarity with distributed systems and considerations for failure handling
• Experience building systems that handle real load and maintain reliability under constraints
