Backend Platform Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Backend Platform Engineer will build and maintain a secure B2C API and authorization boundary, integrating various technologies while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Build the versioned REST/OpenAPI contract and modular TypeScript BFF with stable success/error envelopes and contract-drift CI gates
• Integrate Cognito identity with application sessions, implementing account management features and maintaining independent customer and operator identities
• Design PostgreSQL domain models and implement durable asynchronous operations, ensuring data integrity and efficient processing

Required qualifications

• Strong experience in TypeScript backend engineering, particularly with Node.js and Fastify
• Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL security, data modeling, and transaction management
• Experience with identity and authorization systems, particularly integrating OIDC providers like Cognito
• Proficiency in distributed work execution concepts, including transactional outbox and message queuing
• Familiarity with modern Python development and integration with TypeScript applications
