Backend Platform Engineer
Job Summary
Supporting an external software development organization, the remote Backend Platform Engineer will design, build, and operate core services for an enterprise AI platform while collaborating with client stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement backend services, APIs, and integration frameworks for the AI platform
- Manage services end-to-end, including testing, deployment, reliability, and support
- Collaborate with product, engineering, data, and platform teams to ensure service alignment with client needs
Required qualifications
- Experience building and operating production backend, API, or distributed platform services
- Strong software engineering skills with a focus on reliable, testable, and maintainable service design
- Understanding of multi-tenant systems, service boundaries, and operational failure modes
- Proficiency in designing APIs and developer experiences for internal and external consumers
- Experience owning services through the entire lifecycle from design to support
