Backend Platform Engineer
Job Summary
To support an external software development organization, the remote Backend Platform Engineer will design, build, and operate core services for an enterprise AI platform, collaborating closely with client product, engineering, data, and platform stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement backend services, APIs, and platform capabilities for the AI gateway and orchestration layer
- Own services end-to-end, including testing, deployment, reliability, and support
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective integration and operational performance of platform services
Required qualifications
- Experience building and operating production backend, API, or distributed platform services
- Strong software engineering skills with a focus on reliable, testable, and maintainable service design
- Proficiency in designing APIs and developer experiences for internal and external users
- Experience with multi-tenant systems and platform-level enforcement patterns
- Strong understanding of operational failure modes and service reliability principles
