Backend Platform Engineer
Job Summary
To support an external software development organization, the remote Backend Platform Engineer will design, build, and operate core services for an enterprise AI platform, managing services end to end while collaborating with client stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement reliable backend services, APIs, and integration frameworks for the AI platform
- Own the entire lifecycle of services, from development and testing to deployment and support
- Collaborate with client product, engineering, and data teams to ensure service alignment with business needs
Required qualifications
- Experience in building and operating production backend, API, or distributed platform services
- Strong software engineering skills with a focus on designing testable and maintainable services
- Familiarity with multi-tenant systems, service boundaries, and platform capabilities such as orchestration and entitlements
- Proficiency in designing APIs and developer experiences for both internal and external consumers
- Experience in owning services through all phases, including design, development, and operational support
