Backend Software Engineer

Job Summary

To support open and responsible biomedical science, the remote Backend Software Engineer will develop high-performance services using Java and other programming languages, while collaborating with product managers and designers in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement cutting-edge applications and software solutions, primarily using Java
• Utilize AWS Cloud services for platform development and maintenance
• Analyze user requirements to create robust and efficient software solutions

Required Qualifications

• A BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent training
• 3+ years of software development experience, particularly in team settings
• Proficiency in Java and familiarity with another modern programming language (e.g., Python, TypeScript/Node.js)
• Experience with Git-based version control systems and Agile methodologies
• Curiosity to explore new tools and frameworks that advance technology
