Backend Software Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time remote Backend Software Engineer focused on Python and PostgreSQL, the successful candidate will develop and maintain backend systems, troubleshoot data issues, and adapt to evolving regulatory requirements within a mission-driven non-profit environment.

Key responsibilities

• Implement improvements to backend services and refine geospatial workflows
• Investigate and resolve data discrepancies in collaboration with the Support team
• Adapt systems to comply with new regulatory updates and internal requests

Required qualifications

• Minimum of seven years of professional experience as a backend software engineer
• Extensive experience with Python and PostgreSQL, including query optimization and performance tuning
• Practical experience with Linux, Bash scripting, Docker, and AWS services
• Demonstrated ability to apply design patterns for modular software development
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent training in software engineering principles
