Backend Software Engineer

Job Summary

Focused on building a world-class backend platform, the full-time Backend Software Engineer will design systems, databases, and APIs while working remotely to support enterprise clients in survey automation and relationship intelligence.

Key responsibilities

• Design service boundaries, data models, and REST API contracts ensuring backward compatibility and clean error handling
• Develop event-driven microservices using GCP Pub/Sub for asynchronous processing and reliable workflows
• Implement resilient and observable services with built-in retries, timeouts, and structured logging

Required qualifications

• Proficiency in Java with a deep understanding of concurrency, memory model, and garbage collection
• Experience with Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem or similar dependency injection frameworks
• Strong SQL skills with the ability to write complex queries and understand data modeling
• Knowledge of API design principles, including versioning and error semantics
• Experience building systems that handle real load and consider failure scenarios
