Backend Software Engineer

Job Summary

Contributing to the backend systems of Engine's high-demand Lodging vertical, the remote Senior Software Engineer, Backend will build and maintain business logic for the Partner API integration layer while managing cross-team requests and owning projects end to end.

Key responsibilities:

• Contribute across all three backend systems: Search, Integrations, and Bookings
• Build and maintain business logic for the Partner API integration layer
• Handle cross-team requests from Pricing, FinTech, Content, and Data, clarifying scope and driving to solutions

Required qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development (Claude, Cursor, or equivalent)
• Cloud experience (AWS preferred)
• Strong SQL and relational database fundamentals
• A self-directed working style with the ability to drive work forward independently
• Comfort with ambiguity and adaptability to shifting priorities
