Backend Software Engineer
Job Summary
To support the growth of Affirm's card offerings, the full-time remote Backend Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain backend systems that ensure accurate resolutions and timely communications for post-transaction interactions.
Key responsibilities
- Break down larger projects into individual tasks and collaborate with team members for timely delivery
- Engage with product management, design, and analytics during the product development lifecycle to address technical constraints and risks
- Create and monitor metrics to support the operations and availability of the team's systems, participating in on-call efforts as needed
Required qualifications
- 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer
- Proficiency in designing and developing backend systems using Python or Kotlin
- Familiarity with distributed systems and technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes
- Experience in writing clear, well-tested, and extensible code
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience
