Backend Software Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a Python Backend Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain high-throughput APIs and backend services for measurement products in a fully remote role within the United States, collaborating closely with Data Engineering and Data Science teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs in Python that power measurement products
• Collaborate with Data Engineering and Data Science to integrate models and data pipelines into production services
• Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews while diagnosing and resolving production issues

Required qualifications

• 3-5 years of professional software engineering experience, primarily in Python
• Proven experience building and maintaining production backend services or APIs using FastAPI or a comparable async framework
• Working knowledge of AWS services (e.g., Kinesis, S3, RDS) and relational databases like Postgres
• Experience with async programming and performance optimization in high-volume APIs
• Familiarity with data pipeline tools such as Airflow and testing frameworks like pytest
