Background Investigator

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Background Investigator / Analyst, the full-time remote position will manage investigations related to personnel risk by partnering with HR, Information Security, and Legal teams to deliver comprehensive analytical reports and actionable recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

• Leverage open-source intelligence (OSINT) and commercial investigative tools for comprehensive information gathering and research
• Verify the accuracy and reliability of information from various sources while conducting quantitative risk analysis
• Partner with HR, Legal, and Information Security teams to identify and mitigate personnel security risks

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Psychology, Intelligence Studies, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
• 3-5 years of professional experience in background investigations, due diligence research, or related investigative work
• Proficiency with investigative research databases and tools
• Strong written communication skills for synthesizing complex findings into clear risk assessments
• Understanding of privacy regulations and ethical standards governing background investigations
