Banana Value Chain Specialist

Job Summary

Supporting the implementation of the Banana Occupational Health and Safety Initiative, the part-time Banana Value Chain Specialist will manage projects promoting decent work and labour rights in global banana supply chains while working remotely for a duration of 9 months with a possibility of extension.

Key responsibilities

• Support the operations of the World Banana Forum's Working Group 3 on Labour Rights to promote decent work and gender equality
• Implement, monitor, and report on the Banana Occupational Health and Safety Initiative, including capacity development activities
• Develop and disseminate occupational health and safety tools, training materials, and guidance documents

Required qualifications

• Advanced university degree in Social Sciences, Occupational Health and Safety, Public Health, Labour Studies, or a related field
• At least one year of relevant experience in occupational health and safety or labour rights
• Working knowledge of Spanish (Level C)
• Experience in developing and delivering training materials and capacity development activities
• Knowledge of international frameworks related to occupational health and safety and labour rights
