Banking Product Counsel

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Product Counsel - Banking to support its Banking product team on a contract basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal guidance to the Banking product and partnerships team throughout the product development lifecycle
• Advise on federal and state banking and money transmission regulations, ensuring compliance with consumer protection and disclosure requirements
• Draft and review terms of service, agreements, policies, and collaborate with various stakeholders to support product development and launches

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant experience in law firms, government, or in-house legal teams
• Strong product counseling experience, preferably in fintech, payments, or financial services
• Deep understanding of banking regulations, including consumer protection and disclosure frameworks
• Juris Doctor (JD) and active bar membership
• Prior experience as product or regulatory counsel at a bank or fintech company
