Job Summary
To support a growing network of mental health practices, the full-time Behavioral Health Billing Specialist will manage end-to-end billing and collections processes, including eligibility verification, claims submission, and accounts receivable management, all in a fully remote capacity.
Key responsibilities
- Manage billing and collections for multiple providers, ensuring accurate and timely claims submission
- Verify eligibility and authorization requirements while monitoring and resolving denied or underpaid claims
- Prepare monthly reports on collections, denials, and revenue-cycle performance, collaborating with clinical and operational teams
Required qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing or revenue-cycle experience, preferably in behavioral or mental health
- Strong knowledge of behavioral health CPT codes and experience with commercial insurance, Medicaid, and Medicare
- Proven experience managing denials, appeals, and aging accounts receivable
- Familiarity with Maryland and Washington, D.C. payer requirements is preferred
- Experience with billing software such as Waystar, Availity, and Valant is a plus
