Behavioral Health Billing Specialist

Job Summary

To manage billing and collections for a growing network of mental health practices, the full-time fully remote Behavioral Health Billing & Revenue Cycle Specialist will oversee the entire revenue cycle process, including eligibility verification, claims submission, payment posting, and denial management.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end billing and collections process across multiple behavioral health practices
• Verify insurance eligibility, submit clean claims, and proactively manage outstanding accounts receivable
• Prepare and submit appeals for denied claims and produce monthly reporting on revenue cycle performance

Required qualifications

• 3+ years of medical billing or revenue cycle experience, preferably in behavioral or mental health
• Strong knowledge of behavioral health CPT codes and experience with commercial insurance and Medicaid/Medicare
• Familiarity with Maryland and Washington, D.C. payer requirements
• Demonstrated experience managing denials, appeals, and aging accounts receivable
• Experience supporting multiple clinicians or practice locations preferred
