Benchmark Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Benchmark Engineer to measure, validate, and communicate performance metrics effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain reproducible benchmarks for vector search and distributed workloads
• Evaluate performance metrics including latency, throughput, and memory usage
• Build and maintain benchmarking tooling and collaborate with engineers to identify optimization opportunities

Required Qualifications

• Strong software engineering background (Rust, Python, Go, or similar)
• Solid understanding of databases, distributed systems, or search engines
• Experience with performance testing, profiling, and benchmarking
• Ability to reason about trade-offs in performance metrics
• Comfort working with large datasets and automation pipelines
