Benefits Governance Lead

Job Summary

Leading the governance of benefits programs, the full-time Benefits Governance Lead will manage compliance calendars, oversee policy documentation, and ensure HIPAA privacy and security for a self-insured medical plan while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the compliance calendar, managing filings, notices, and documentation for benefits governance
• Oversee the governance of benefits policy inventory and ensure consistency across various documents and systems
• Guide global benefits governance and assess plan liabilities during acquisitions and integrations

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in benefits compliance, governance, or a related field
• Experience with self-insured health plans and knowledge of ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, and COBRA requirements
• Proven ability to lead audits and compliance assessments, translating findings into actionable plans
• Experience supporting benefits programs across multiple countries with a focus on privacy and statutory requirements
• Familiarity with modern HR systems and governance, risk, compliance, or audit management platforms
