Job Summary
Overseeing the employee benefits program, the full-time Benefits Manager will manage the Benefits Team, develop and implement a comprehensive benefits package, ensure compliance with legal requirements, and stay informed of industry changes while working in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Administer health, welfare, and retirement benefits programs, including billing, deductions, and leave management
- Ensure compliance with regulations such as ERISA and the Affordable Care Act, and communicate benefit program features to employees and management
- Oversee vendor relationships and resolve benefit-related issues while evaluating the efficiency of current benefit programs
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field preferred
- Minimum of five years of progressive benefits experience required
- Experience in education or highly regulated fields, particularly in multi-site and multi-state environments, is highly preferred
- Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to health and welfare benefit plans
- Proficiency with HRIS systems (UKG), benefits platforms (PlanSource), and productivity software (MS Office)
