Benefits Verification Specialist

Job Summary

Providing after-hours benefit verification coverage, the full-time Benefits Verification Specialist will verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits, identify authorization requirements, and ensure smooth revenue cycle operations while working remotely during evening and overnight shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor schedules for next-day appointments and verify patient insurance coverage prior to services
• Determine patient responsibility for copays, deductibles, and coinsurance, and document findings accurately
• Collaborate with BVA, scheduling, billing, and AR teams to ensure accurate workflows and support denial prevention efforts

Required Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in benefit verification, medical insurance, or prior authorization
• Strong knowledge of commercial and government payers, insurance policies, and healthcare terminology
• Familiarity with payer authorization portals and workflows
• Knowledge of denial management and insurance appeal processes
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
