Billing Collection Representative

Job Summary

To support the finance team, the full-time Billing Collection Representative will resolve unpaid insurance accounts by contacting insurance companies for payment and managing claims while working remotely, preferably from within a commutable distance to Akron, Ohio.

Key responsibilities

• Develop positive relationships with payer representatives to ensure timely collection of accounts
• Investigate and resolve pended claims, identifying trends and issues related to claims submission
• Accurately post resolutions to accounts, including updating billing information and maintaining provider manuals

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in billing and collections; 5 years preferred
• Experience in processing and billing physician claims, including knowledge of CPT and ICD coding
• Proficiency in managing CMS formatted claims and MS Office applications
• Medical Billing Certificate preferred
