Billing Follow Up Representative

Job Summary

To support moderately complex billing processes, the full-time Billing Follow Up Representative will independently review accounts, manage billing follow-up activities, and communicate with insurance payors to ensure proper reimbursement while working fully remote.

Key responsibilities

• Review and resolve outstanding claims using multiple systems in compliance with guidelines
• Communicate with internal teams and external customers to validate and correct billing information
• Accurately enter and update patient and insurance information, appealing claims as necessary

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Typically requires 1 year of related experience in a medical/billing reimbursement environment
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology, coding (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS), and insurance practices preferred
• Ability to operate computer and software systems used in billing processes
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting documents such as explanations of benefits (EOB)
