Billing Follow Up Representative

Job Summary

To support the revenue cycle operations, the full-time Billing Follow Up Representative will manage insurance claims follow-up, ensuring proper reimbursement while working remotely and maintaining compliance with billing guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Independently review accounts and apply billing follow-up knowledge to resolve outstanding claims
• Communicate with internal teams and external customers to validate and correct billing information
• Accurately enter and update patient and insurance information in the accounting system while maintaining documentation of all billing activities

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• Typically requires 1 year of related experience in a medical/billing reimbursement environment
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and coding (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS) is preferred
• Ability to operate computer and software systems used in billing processes
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting documents such as explanations of benefits (EOB)
