Billing Reimbursement Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Billing Reimbursement Specialist II will be responsible for reconciling medical claims, managing appeals and denials, and ensuring accurate patient billing to enhance revenue collection.

Key responsibilities

• Focus efforts on increasing cash flow and reducing bad debt through effective claims management
• Manage appeals and denial processes in accordance with payer guidelines, ensuring timely resolutions
• Evaluate and respond to billing inquiries from patients or their representatives to resolve issues efficiently

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; further education is a plus
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, or healthcare, preferably in laboratory insurance billing
• Working knowledge of coding systems such as CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS, as well as related medical policies
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with medical billing software
• Experience with insurance eligibility verification and data entry for patient accounts
