Job Summary
Detail-oriented and experienced, the full-time Billing Specialist will manage billing and receivables for home safety assessments and modifications, ensuring timely invoicing, payment tracking, and compliance with payer requirements in a remote setting.
Key responsibilities
- Timely submit invoices, track payments, manage denials, and resolve payment discrepancies with payers
- Monitor unpaid invoices, investigate billing errors, and file appeals as necessary
- Ensure compliance with documentation requirements and apply accurate billing codes for services rendered
Required qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in ancillary medical and non-medical billing and collections with MCOs and other payer types
- Deep understanding of Medicaid, Medicare, and dual-eligible billing guidelines and compliance requirements
- Proficiency with payer portals, clearinghouses, EDI systems, and billing/EHR platforms
- High attention to detail regarding billing requirements, coding, and documentation compliance
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with internal teams and payer representatives
