Billing Specialist

Job Summary

Managing accurate billing and collections for the Muir Home Health agency, the full-time Billing Specialist will oversee claims processing, ensure compliance with regulations, and maintain positive relationships with payers while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee billing and collections operations to ensure timely reimbursement and compliance with state and federal regulations
• Conduct audits and manage claims processing, including final billing audits and oversight of the pre-billing team
• Monitor aged accounts receivable, resubmit bills to overdue accounts, and prepare bad debt reports for management review

Required qualifications

• Associate's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; Bachelor's degree preferred
• At least three years of experience in healthcare billing and collections management, preferably in home care operations
• Knowledge of governmental regulations and Joint Commission standards
• Experience with billing information systems and corporate business management
• Ability to exercise discretion and demonstrate strong negotiation and public relations skills
