Billing Specialist

Job Summary

To ensure timely submission of medical claims, the full-time Billing Specialist will utilize various healthcare systems to verify patient information and perform compliant billing functions while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Verify patient and billing information for accuracy and perform primary/secondary billing functions
• Edit claims to meet billing compliance guidelines and respond to inquiries from management and payers
• Monitor claims for missing information and maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with policies

Required qualifications

• 2+ years of medical collections or billing experience
• Intermediate knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and NCCI
• Familiarity with third-party billing guidelines and claim forms (UB04/1500)
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Intermediate knowledge of health information systems (e.g., EMR, Claim Scrubbers)
