Billing Specialist

Job Summary

To support the Revenue Cycle Management team, the full-time Billing Specialist will manage the Ready to Bill unbilled revenue, ensuring compliance with regulations and timely processing of claims while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure daily progress towards cash collection goals and manage the Ready to Bill queue for accurate claim submissions
• Conduct Quality Assurance for new claims and invoices, adhering to payer guidelines and resolving unbilled tickets promptly
• Communicate effectively with team members and participate in billing-related conference calls to ensure compliance and accuracy in documentation

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required; some college education preferred
• 3 to 4 years of experience in medical billing with knowledge of managed care, commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid reimbursement
• Experience in auditing documentation for compliance with payer requirements
• Familiarity with automated billing systems, preferably CPR+, and knowledge of ICD-9, CPT, and HCPCS coding
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, typing speed of 40 wpm, and skilled with a 10-key calculator
