Billing Specialist

Job Summary

To support billing operations for critical access hospitals and rural health clinics, the full-time Billing Specialist will manage charging, billing, collections, and cash management functions while working remotely.

Key responsibilities:

• Evaluate and implement billing processes focused on critical access hospital and rural health clinic workflows
• Process electronic and paper claims, ensuring compliance with reimbursement methodologies and payer-specific requirements
• Resolve claim errors and denials, performing follow-up on underpaid or unpaid claims related to complex hospital billing structures

Required qualifications:

• High School Diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of medical billing experience required, with a strong emphasis on critical access hospital billing preferred
• Proven experience with facility-based claims and UB-04 billing
• Strong knowledge of medical and insurance terminology
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
