Job Summary

Seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Billing Specialist - North Carolina, this full-time remote position will manage patient responsibility collections, advocate for families navigating financial resources, and ensure timely billing processes while maintaining strong relationships with clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage patient responsibility accounts with professionalism, developing flexible payment plans tailored to families' financial circumstances
• Research and connect families with financial assistance programs and resources for autism services
• Oversee the automated insurance verification process and communicate coverage details to families

Required qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in healthcare billing/collections or patient financial services
• Knowledge of healthcare billing regulations and HIPAA compliance requirements
• Experience with insurance verification, claims processing, and accounts receivable
• Familiarity with ABA services and Medicaid eligibility preferred
• Proven ability to advocate for families during financial hardships and navigate complex insurance issues
