BIM Subject Matter Expert

Job Summary

To support a growing substation design practice, the remote Substation BIM Subject Matter Expert will advance Building Information Modeling (BIM) practices, provide technical leadership, and mentor project teams while ensuring successful project execution and quality assurance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Substation BIM standards, workflows, and best practices while managing BIM content libraries
• Support project teams with BIM modeling, quality control, and troubleshooting to ensure compliance with standards and project requirements
• Collaborate with clients to refine BIM standards and serve as a technical point of contact for project execution planning

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Drafting, Design, BIM, Architecture, Construction Management, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent experience
• 7-10 years of experience in BIM, CAD, design, or engineering support roles, with 2+ years in electric utility or substation projects
• Demonstrated experience in leading BIM standards development and project execution
• Advanced proficiency with Autodesk Inventor, Revit, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and Navisworks
• Strong understanding of model coordination, clash detection, and digital project delivery workflows
