Job Summary

A company is looking for a Bioinformatician I to analyze and interpret high throughput data generated by next-generation sequencing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the design, development, testing, and deployment of software tools or algorithms for processing next-generation sequencing data
• Support all users of Bioinformatics systems and maintain necessary documentation for regulatory compliance
• Stay current in bioinformatics techniques and technologies through professional reading, technical training, and conferences

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or related field
• 2+ years of experience with Next Generation Sequencing data and analysis using bioinformatics tools
• Proficient in Python or Perl and comfortable with command line Linux
• Proficient in utilizing an HPC and Git or other version control software
• Basic knowledge of common bioinformatic tools, such as BWA, Bowtie, Bowtie2, GATK, SnpEff, etc
