Bioinformatics Analyst

Job Summary

Supporting the development and maintenance of bioinformatics solutions, the full-time Bioinformatics Analyst will provide analytical support for genomic investigations, assist in training workshops, and contribute to process improvements while working remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in providing analytical support for external partners during genomic investigations, ensuring timely solutions
• Contribute to the development and delivery of training workshops, handling material preparation and logistics
• Regularly communicate project statuses and challenges with the Public Health Team Lead for informed decision-making

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in bioinformatics, biostatistics, microbiology, molecular biology, or a related field
• Experience applying bioinformatics tools and workflows in pathogen genomics
• Proficiency in standard bioinformatics tools for NGS quality assessment, genome assembly, and antimicrobial resistance detection
• Basic knowledge of statistical approaches for analyzing NGS data
• Familiarity with genomic epidemiology methods and ability to work collaboratively on multiple projects
