Job Summary

A company is looking for a Director of Bioinformatics Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop robust bioinformatics tools and workflows for clinical genetics research and innovation
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to translate research pipelines into scalable solutions
• Participate in the full lifecycle of bioinformatics tools from design to ongoing maintenance

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genetics, Computer Science, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of postdoctoral or industry experience in bioinformatics or computational biology
• Extensive experience programming in Python with a focus on software engineering best practices
• Proven expertise in developing and deploying bioinformatics workflows, preferably with Nextflow or similar frameworks
• Experience in cloud and HPC environments, including containerization technologies like Docker
